THE VISION / FOUNDER
WHY 21 ROADS WAS CREATED
James Coleman - Founder & Creator, 21 Roads to Recovery
I created the 21 Roads to Recovery because I believed recovery needed a roadmap that speaks to the realities people are facing today. I chose roads instead of steps because recovery is a journey. There are straight roads and difficult roads, turns, potholes, side streets, rest stops, setbacks, discoveries, and opportunities to choose a different direction.
Recovery is also about much more than stopping substance use. It can involve rebuilding physical and mental health, relationships, emotional wellness, financial stability, identity, purpose, community, and ultimately a meaningful life and legacy.
My vision is to provide a comprehensive roadmap that helps people examine the whole person and the whole life they are rebuilding—moving from simply surviving to healing, growing, rebuilding, and becoming
